The 2023 limited-release reserve Chardonnay is from the Reinke Vineyard.
The Reinke Vineyard lies in Napa Valley's Carneros district, one of the finest wine-growing regions in the world for cultivating thin-skinned Chardonnay grapes. The cooling breezes off the San Pablo Bay allow the grapes a longer hang time in which to develop flavor and intensity without sacrificing acidity and true balance. The Chardonnay grapes chosen to produce this reserve wine were barrel fermented using several unique strains of yeast. Upon completing fermentation, the wine remained in new French oak barrels for an additional 10 months of sur lee aging.
Barrel: Nadalie Tonnellerie. (Perle Blanche Epice)
Alcohol: 14.3%
This wine is still predictably youthful, unfurling in the glass with aromas of crisp Anjou pear, buttered citrus, tangerine oil and a prominent framing of very classy new French oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, multidimensional and concentrated, both satiny and textural without being remotely unctuous, and underpinned by succulent, even tangy acids. At this early stage, the wine shows its pedigree in its extraordinarily long, oak-inflected finish.
Chardonnay: $75/bottle

The 2016 limited-release reserve Merlot is from the Hudson Vineyard
The Hudson Vineyards is an agrarian dream, situated deep in the heart of the rolling hills of Napa Valley's Carneros District and producing world-class wine grapes for exceptional wines. Fruit from the Hudson Vineyards has highly sought after – simply look at the producers who source fruit from here, including Aubert, Kongsgaard, Kistler, Cakebread, Failla, David Ramey, and a variety of others. In reviewing the 2012 Kongsgaard Merlot from Hudson Vineyards, which received 96 points, Robert Parker described the wine as: "A beauty, it offers sexy, creamy chocolaty, Asian plum sauce, and blackcurrant notes as well as a hint of minerality. Full-throttle and opulent, this layered, stunning Merlot can be enjoyed over the next 15 or more years. " We believe the SuhrIng 2016 Merlot has many of these same characteristics and qualities.
Merlot: $150/bottle
