2019 Suhring Chardonnay
This wine was harvested onSeptember 26, 2019 and was bottled on November 20, 2020 after 13 months of barrel aging. All the fruit is from the Reinke Vineyard in the Carneros Region of Napa Valley and it was 100% barrel fermented on wild yeast. Upon completing fermentation, the wine remained in barrels for an additional three months of sur lee aging, with approximately 80% going through Malolactic fermentation.
The wine reveals its well-balanced structure, power and concentration of fruit. It displays aromas of honeysuckle, hazelnut and buttered citrus, followed by a full-bodied structured wine with great fruit intensity, decent acidity and nicely integrated wood. It has a sweet perfumed finish laced with honey and nectarines that rounds out the wine nicely. This is a wine that will bring pleasure right now, and will age for 3 more years.
The Reinke Vineyard lies in Napa Valley’s Carneros district, one of the finest wine growing regions in the world for cultivating thin-skinned Chardonnay grapes. The cooling breezes off the San Pablo Bay allow the grapes a longer hang time in which to develop flavor and intensity, without sacrificing acidity and true balance.

In reviewing the 2012 Kongsgaard Merlot from Hudson Vineyards, which received 96 points, Robert Parker described the wine as: "A beauty, it offers sexy, creamy chocolaty, Asian plum sauce, and black currant notes as well as a hint of minerality. Full-throttle and opulent, this layered, stunning Merlot can be enjoyed over the next 15 or more years." We believe the 2016 Suhring Merlot has many of these same characteristics and qualities.
